On Tuesday, January 12 (2010), the island nation of Haiti was ravaged
by a major earthquake. The
disaster has resulted in the loss of thousands of innocent lives.
On behalf of its members, the Greater Boston Chapter of Blacks In Government wishes to extend its condolences to the
people of Haiti and to their loved ones here in the U.S., especially here in Boston - home to a large Haitian immigrant population. We remember you in our prayers.
The Greater Boston Chapter urges all its members to contribute voluntarily to the relief efforts in support of Haiti. These efforts
are immediate and will need to be sustained for a long time. Below is a list of
some reputable non-profit organizations that are currently present and on the
ground in Haiti with the logistical means and capacity to
help the people of Haiti.
